Thriving Arts offers limited need-based scholarship support to help reduce the cost of eligible workshops, classes, and educational movement arts events.

If a request is approved, Thriving Arts may provide support in one of the following ways:

  1. Payment made directly to the workshop, class, or event provider

  2. Full or partial waiver of registration fees for a Thriving Arts-hosted program or event

Scholarship Program

Eligibility

To be considered, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Live in, work in, or maintain a meaningful connection to the Sacramento region

  • Demonstrate financial need. Applicant self-attestation is acceptable.

  • Be applying for an educational opportunity aligned with movement arts learning, training, or community participation

  • Not be a current Thriving Arts director, officer, employee, contractor, or a member of such person’s household

Expenses

Scholarship support may be used only for the following:

  • Registration fees or tuition for an eligible workshop, class, seminar, or event

  • Required materials or participation fees, only when necessary for attendance

Scholarship support does not cover travel, lodging, meals, optional purchases, private shopping, merchandise, or other non-required expenses unless expressly stated otherwise by Thriving Arts.

Awards

Scholarship requests are reviewed individually and are subject to available funding.

A request may be:

  • Approved in full

  • Approved in part

  • Denied

Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.

Payment

If approved, Thriving Arts will determine the payment method in its discretion. In most cases, payment will be made directly to the provider. For Thriving Arts-hosted programs, support may be applied as a full or partial fee waiver.

Restrictions

Scholarship funds may not be used in a manner that provides an improper private benefit to directors, officers, employees, contractors, or related household members.

Applicants must disclose any financial relationship with the provider of the workshop, class, seminar, or event for which support is requested.

Questions

Thriving Arts reserves the right to interpret eligibility, request additional information, and approve, deny, or limit funding in its discretion, consistent with available funds and nonprofit policy.
